Do you own land that has a watercourse or drainage ditch on or adjacent to it?
If Answer is Yes –You are therefore a ‘riparian landowner’ and you are responsible for maintaining those watercourses.
The recent heavy rain has highlighted the poor state of many ditches in the parish. Maintenance is vital to ensure the water can flow safely and correctly to drains.
Please check your ditches and clear them where necessary.
